Effect of PKCδ and PI3K–Akt inhibitors on the expression of HYBID and HAS2 mRNA. A and B, effects of rottlerin on HYBID expression (A) and Akt inhibitor V on HAS2 (B) mRNA expression. Detroit 551 cells were incubated for 1 h in the absence (control) or presence of 3 μm of rottlerin (PKCδ inhibitor) or 20 μm of Akt inhibitor V (Akt inhibitor) prior to stimulation with 10 μm of histamine for 24 h. The expression levels of HYBID and HAS2 mRNAs were measured by quantitative real-time PCR. The values are expressed as means ± S.D. (n = 3) and shown as fold increases in mRNA expression relative to control cells in the absence of histamine. The Tukey's test was used for statistical analysis. ***, p < 0.001; **, p < 0.01.
