TABLE 3.

Frequencies of motor patterns with and without Krebs perfusion.

Group Number of pellets Expulsion Time (min) Number of pellet movements Frequency of CMCs (cpm) Frequency of reflex movements (cpm)
No Krebs (N = 7) 13 15.4 ± 2.2 (n = 13) 4.3 ± 0.5 (n = 13) 0.21 (0.18, 0.29) (n = 13) 0.06 (0.05, 0.11) (n = 7)
Krebs (N = 17) 27 7.5 ± 0.9a (n = 27) 2.8 ± 0.2b (n = 27) 0.16 (0.12, 0.23) (n = 14) 0.25 (0.14, 0.68)c (n = 23)

aP < 0.001, bP = 0.002, cP = 0.001 compared to No Krebs. Values are presented as mean ± SEM for parametric distributions or median (Q25, Q75) for non-normal distributions. P values for Time and Number of Pellets were determined by Student’s independent T tests with equal variances. P values for Frequencies of CMC and Reflex Movements were determined by Wilcoxon–Mann–Whitney tests.
