Figure 2

Sequence similarity of FAcilitates Chromatin Transcription (FACT) subunits. The amino acid sequences of SSRP1 (A) and SPT16 (B) proteins from various organisms (Arabidopsis thaliana (At), Drosophila melanogaster (Dm), Glycine max (Gm), Homo sapiens (Hs), Hordeum vulgare (Hv), Oryza sativa (Os), Physcomitrella patens (Pp), Populus trichocarpa (Pt), Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Sc), Selaginella moellendorfii (Sm), Sorghum bicolor (Sb), Triticum aestivum (Ta), Vitis vinifera (Vv), Zea mays (Zm)) were aligned by multiple sequence alignment (cf. Supplementary Figures S1, S2 ) using Clustal Omega (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/Tools/msa/clustalo/) that served to cluster the sequences (unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean). The sequences of plants are indicated in green and those of metazoa in red, while the yeast sequence is labelled blue.
