Study Reason for exclusion
Elias 2001 This study no longer appears on controlled‐trials.com (search date 14 February 2013). We've coded it as an excluded study rather than deleting it, since it was cited in the original version of this review, and to keep a record of why it was removed.
Shi 2006 This is a clinical and experimental study looking at the effect of WLP in treating intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy. In the clinical aspect of the study, women in the control group received a combination of 5% glucose (250 mL), dexamethasone (5 mg), vitamin C2, compound injection of red sage root, potassium magnesium aspartate (0.3 g) and Barbital (0.06 g). Women in the test group received WLP in addition to the above components. This made the study very complex as it contained components that may individually affect the outcomes in intrahepatic cholestasis in pregnancy.
The experimental part of the study was conducted on rat models.
