Delivered dose (in unit of cGy) vs Cherenkov intensity for the calibration polyvinyl chloride (PVC) phantom in the total skin electron (TSE) stand with spoiler at SSD = 500 cm on the central axis. The gantry angle is 90° and 6 MeV electron for TSE is used. The solid line is for dose measured at depth of maximum dose (6 mm) and the dashed line is for the dose measured at surface. The slope of the linear dependence, corresponding to a in Eq. (2), is a function of electron energy, incident angle, pixel position, material optical properties, and inverse square law. The offset reflects the background signal from the Cherenkov intensity and is instrument specific. [Color figure can be viewed at wileyonlinelibrary.com]
