Alteration of fluorescence intensity at 530 nm as a result of the addition of NaCl, KCl and MgCl₂ from a concentration of 0 to 1 M (a). Fluorescence enhancement factor for concentrations of 0 to 0.2 M NaCl and 0 to 0.1 M KCl (b). The fluorescence enhancement factor of the reference sample (salt-free) is 1, and samples with a fluorescence intensity higher than the reference have a fluorescence factor more than 1.
