Effect of SDX on MMP levels in stretched veins. Vein tissue homogenates from rat IVC rings under 0.5g-resting tension, or extended 2g-stretch, or extended 2g-stretch plus SDX (0.5mg/ml) were prepared for Western blot analysis using antibodies to MMP-2 (1:1000) and MMP-9 (1:1000). The optical density of immunoreactive bands corresponding to pro-MMP-2 (A), pro-MMP-9 (B), MMP-2 (C) and MMP-9 (D) was measured using ImageJ and normalized to β-actin.
