Correction

PMCID: PMC7060477  PMID: 32144868

In an article 1 titled “Peperomin E reactivates silenced tumor suppressor genes in lung cancer cells by inhibition of DNA methyltransferase” by Xin‐zhi Wang, Ying Cheng, Kui‐long Wang, Rui Liu, Xiao‐lin Yang, Hong‐mei Wen, Chuan Chai, Jing‐yu Liang, Hao Wu, Figures 3(C), 6(B) and 9(A) should be changed.

In Figure 3C, the TUNEL staining picture of control group was misused in the original published manuscript. The correct Figure 3(C) is displayed below.

Figure 3C

In Figure 6(B), the original experimental results did not involve changes in DNMT1 expression after the 5‐Aza‐dC treatment. In order to compare the expression of DNMT1 in A549 cells after the PepE or 5‐Aza‐dC treatment, the authors re‐run the DNMT1 immuno‐staining experiment. As expected, PepE can significantly decrease the DNMT1 expression in A549 cells in a dose‐dependent manner at 1‐8 μM range as the authors already reported in the original manuscript. However, 5‐Aza‐dC did not affect the DNMT1 expression in A549 cells. The corrected figure and figure caption of Figure 6(B) is shown below

Figure 6(B). Western‐blot bands for DNMT1 protein expression in A549 cells after PepE or 5‐Aza‐dC treatment. The intensity of the bands was quantified by optical density (OD) and normalized to the OD of β‐tublin.

In Figure 9(A), the internal reference western band (β‐actin) was misused. The authors re‐run the immunoblotting experiments of Figure 9(A). The results of repeated immunoblotting experiments are consistence with those of previous experiments. The replacement picture of Figure 9(A) is as follows.

The authors apologize for the errors.
