ATP values of midribs in Dionaea muscipula traps in unfed open control traps, unfed mechanically triggered traps and fed mechanically triggered traps. Midribs were cut out of snap-frozen Dionaea traps with a scalpel before they were homogenized into powder with a mortar and pestle and ATP values were determined using an ATP assay kit. Significant differences between different time points within one treatment are indicated by lower case letters and differences between both treatments at the same time point are indicated with upper case letters. Data shown are mean values (± s.d.) based on five independent measurements.
