Alternative splicing and resulting changes to the secretase-type rhomboid proteases (6+1 model). Amino acid sequences of the splice variant proteins were aligned and compared. The outcomes of these comparisons are compiled in the Supplementary Tables. The results are summarized in this figure. The regions of the protein potentially influenced by the changes are annotated. The protein structure is constructed using information from Lemberg and Freeman ¹. Information concerning the names used in the figure is provided in Table S2.
