Relationship between subjective experience and neurofeedback performance in Screen (blue) and HMD-VR (yellow). Participants reported their level of Embodiment on a scale from 1 to 10 (Table 1). (a) Embodiment: For the HMD-VR condition, embodiment was significantly related to performance. However, for the Screen condition, embodiment did not significantly relate to neurofeedback performance. (b) Self Embodiment and (c) Spatial Embodiment: For the HMD-VR condition, we found a near significant relationship between the two embodiment sub-features and neurofeedback performance. However, for the Screen condition, we did not find a significant relationship between the two embodiment sub-features and neurofeedback performance.
