An integration of convolutions and capsules which has been named Ensemble of convolutions with capsules (ECC). This model outperforms earlier simple CapsNet model (in Figure 5a) and comparable to ICC (depicted in Figure 6). As discussed earlier, weight matrix $M_{xy}$ is a matrix of weights between both ${\alpha }_x$, $x\in$ (1, 16 × 17 × 17) in Primary Caps layer and $v_y$, $y\in$ (1,2), where 1 represents “Normal” and 2 represents “Pneumonia”.
