PC inhibitor reduced protein kinase B (Akt) phosphorylation and glucose transporters. (A) Akt phosphorylation ratio was significantly increased in the SU5 group was significantly downregulated with PC inhibitor treatment. (B) Glucose transporter Glut 4 (total) expression was not significantly altered, but (C) in the SU5 group, Glut 4 membrane expression was found increased and it was found decreased in (D) cytosolic fraction. PC inhibitor treatment significantly attenuated Glut 4 translocation from the membrane to the cytosol. Another glucose transporter, Glut 1, showed increased expression; (E) total glut 1 expression in whole lung lysate, (F) Glut1 expression in the membrane fraction and (G) Glut1 expression in the cytosolic fraction.
