Generation of simian rotavirus A (RVA) reassortants with human VP4 and/or VP7. (a) Passaging of reassortants in MA-104 cells. Infected cells were analyzed by light microscopy for signs of CPE after 1–5 passages (P1–5). qRT-PCR analysis with primer pairs specific for the NSP3-encoding genome segment of SA11 was performed at P5. Plus signs indicate the presence of a clear CPE or a positive qRT-PCR signal. Results are representative of two independent experiments performed in duplicates.
