Length-Dependent Activation (LDA) and Slow Force Response (SFR). Immediately after a cardiac muscle is stretched, there is a rapid Ca2+-independent rise in developed force (ΔF1 > ΔF0, LDA) followed by a more gradual rise that is associated with an intracellular Ca2+ increase (ΔF2 > ΔF1, SFR).
