Relative quantity of (a,b) SLC16A1 mRNA and (c,d) monocarboxylate transporter 1 (MCT1) protein in the studied liver tissue samples. The mean expression of five house-keeping genes was used as a reference for mRNA quantification (PPIA, RPLP0, RPS9, ACTB, and HMBS).
