Antibacterial activity and inhibition of antibacterial activity. The growth of V. alginolyticus after incubated at 37 °C for 24 h was measured at absorbance of 600 nm. The inhibitory effect of EDAs against the bacteria growth was expressed in percentage where the inhibition effect of 1 mg mL⁻¹ ampicillin (a positive control) was hundred percent and that of non-lectin or -ampicillin supplemented solution (a negative control) was zero percent.
