LOX derived from M2-like macrophages promotes human breast cancer cell MDA-MB-231 migration. THP-1 cells were seeded in the lower chamber and incubated with 100 nM TPA for 24 h. After the incubation, M0 macrophages were pre-treated with or without GSK-J4 for 30 min, and then treated with IL-4 and IL-13 (20 ng/ml each) for 24 h. MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells (1 × 10⁴ cells/well) were seeded in the upper chamber, co-cultured with macrophages for 24 h with or without BAPN (500 µM), and the migratory effects of LOX were then evaluated. Migrated cells were stained and counted under a microscope (n = 3) (*p<0.05 vs M0 macrophages, ^#p<0.05 vs untreated M2-like macrophages). The scale bar shows 100 µm.
