Patient preparation. The patient is positioned supine, according to the standard arthroscopic position. The popliteal line should be beyond the edge of the surgical table to be able to flex the knee comfortably. It is advisable to place a lateral stop just above the knee, at the level of the tourniquet, to avoid external rotation of the hip. The contralateral leg is placed in the same position or on a leg holder.
