The conformations of DNA-probe immobilization and probe-target hybridization. (a) The 77-mer probes, ATP5Oc or CANXc, were immobilized on both planar slide and aerogel surfaces for comparison. (b) The upper 60-mer of the probe was designed specifically to recognize the DNA sequence of the target. The lower 17-mer provided a space to prevent the target–substrate interface from a steric hindrance.
