When axons grew into the downstream chamber and growth cones were formed, neurons were infected with H129-G/R at an MOI of 1. VP26-mCherry⁺gD-GFP⁺ puncta (white arrow) were found in axonal terminal (left panels) and axonal varicosity (right panels) at 24 hpi.
