Chemical inhibition reduces viral progeny production. (A) Vero cells were pretreated with DMSO, U0126, or PD98059 for 1 h and were mock or PEDV infected (MOI of 1). Vehicle or each inhibitor was present in the medium throughout the infection. At 48 hpi, the virus supernatants were collected and virus titers were determined. (B) Growth kinetics of PEDV upon treatment with each inhibitor was assessed exactly as for panel A. At the indicated time points postinfection, culture supernatants were harvested and virus titers were measured.
