GFP-tagged HBV binds to HepG2 cells. In squares a and b are shown the adsorption of GFP-tagged HBV particles (HBV + GFP.S) to live HepG2 cells, grown on glass bottom dishes, as detected by GFP autofluorescence (magnification, ×1600). Under the same assay conditions, GFP-tagged subviral particles (S + GFP.S) did not bind to cells (squares c and d).
