EGTA treatment inhibits PDCoV production. (A) IPI-2I cells were incubated with various concentrations of EGTA or DMSO, as a control, for 12 h for the MTT assay. (B, C) IPI-2I cells were pretreated with EGTA for 1 h and then infected with PDCoV (MOI = 0.5). At 6 or 12 h post-infection (hpi), cells were collected to detect the expression of PDCoV mRNA and the N protein (B), and to measure viral titers (C). (D) IPI-2I cells were pretreated with EGTA for 1 h and then infected with PDCoV (MOI = 0.5). The infected cells were maintained with normal medium or calcium-free medium. At 6, 9 12, 15 hpi, cells were collected and viral titers were determined by plaque assay.
