Products were selected to represent the aging-in-place supportive domains through the use of the Able Data database, maintained by the Department of Health & Human Services' (HHS), National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), and its product categories. Five researchers from design and gerontology fields chose the representative products for the survey.
