Resistance of the myristoylation knock-out mutant virus P129-E-G2A to 0.1 mM 2-hydroxymyristate (HMA). Cell culture supernatants were harvested at 24 h post-infection in the presence of HMA and subjected TCID50 assay (A) and real-time RT-PCR (B) for ORF7 gene to measure the infectivity and the amount of viral RNA in the supernatant. −HMA, absence of 2-hydroxymyristate; +HMA, presence of 2-hydroxymyristate. Experiments were conducted in duplicate and repeated three times. The data were compared using analysis of variance and t-test, and shown as mean ± standard error.
