Dimensionless parameters characterising the repeating cell for the two repeating cell geometries used in the simulations. The fibre radius is ρ, the dimen-sionless microscale height of the cell is θ = h/l and θ/4ρ is a measure of the vertical overlap between adjacent fibre layers, where a larger value indicates less overlap and θ/(4ρ) = 1 represents the case where the fibres are just touching.
