The shaded areas represent the 95% tolerance region under each of the two hypotheses. The solid lines correspond to the empirical variogram for Z͂(xi, ti), as defined in Section 3.1. In the lower panels, the theoretical variograms obtained from the least squares (dotted lines) and maximum likelihood (dashed lines) methods are shown.
