SAPN morphology and dimensions (A) TEM image of P6c SAPNs. The sample was negatively stained with 1% uranyl acetate. The peptide concentration was 0.05 mg/ml and the buffer was 20 mM HEPES pH 7.5, 150 mM NaCl, 5% glycerol. An enlarged view of one SAPN is shown in the inset. (B) Size distribution of the SAPNs. The volume distribution profile from the dynamic light scattering measurement shows a peak corresponding to a hydrodynamic diameter of 28 nm. The TEM microscopy indicated an average diameter of 27 nm (n = 190).
