Grading of deep tendon reflexes (DTRs)

Grading of DTRs	Qualitative descriptor of reflex grading
0	Not present, even with facilitory procedure
1	Present but reduced or weak
2	Normal
2+	Normal, but somewhat brisk (high normal)
3	Brisk
3+4 (or 3+)	Very brisk, but no clonus
4	Pathologically brisk with clonus

Reflex grading of 2+ throughout, is discussed as “reflexes were 2+ throughout”.
