S1P1 is expressed on endothelial cells and lymphocytes isolated from eGFP-S1P1 receptor knock-in mice. Panel a: Cell populations purified using antibodies to specific cell surface markers and FACS. Purity of all cell populations exceeded 98.5 %. See Teijaro et al. (2011) for details about reagents and experiments. As seen in Panel a, only endothelial cells (lymphoid and vascular) and lymphocytes (CD4 + T cells, CD8 + T cells) expressed the GFP-S1P1 receptor marker. Pulmonary epithelial cells, the primary target for influenza virus, do not express the S1P1 receptor.
