CPE at 48 h in VERO E6 cells infected with SARS-CoV. Confluent VERO E6 cells cultured in a 96-well plate are infected with SARS-CoV (1000 TCID) and incubated for 2 days. When CPE was observed microscopically, 10% formalin/PBS, followed by 10% formalin/PBS containing 0.1% crystal violet was added to each well.
