Hierarchical clustering of nonsynonymous mutations in 2010 and 2016 CHIK patient serum samples. A total of 41 nonsynonymous mutations were observed in the structural (E1, E2, E3, C, and 6K) and nonstructural (nsP1, nsP2, nsP3, and nsP4) regions of the chikungunya virus genome in 11 samples from the 2010 outbreak and eight patient sera samples from the 2016 outbreak. These mutations were clustered hierarchically using R-Bioconductor statistical packages. It was observed that 2010 and 2016 patients clustered separately of each other. Also, certain mutations were found to be linked. This figure appears in color at www.ajtmh.org.
