Since January 2020 Elsevier has created a COVID-19 resource centre with free information in English and Mandarin on the novel coronavirus COVID-19. The COVID-19 resource centre is hosted on Elsevier Connect, the company's public news and information website. (A) Spread of 2019-nCoV in China. Provinces with 545 confirmed 2019-nCoV cases to date (1/22/2020 8:00 PM) are indicated in red (total 25). Provinces in yellow have suspected cases, while those in green have reported no cases. The epidemic is mainly distributed in central and southern China.

(B) Increasing number of cases. The number of confirmed cases by date are plotted, which shows a gradual increase over time.
