PEDV infection induces apoptosis in vivo. Tissue specimens were collected from the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum of infected animals at the indicated days post-inoculation. The formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue sections were deparaffinized and sequentially labeled with TUNEL (green) followed by an anti-PEDV-N antibody (red). The sections were then counterstained with DAPI and examined using a confocal microscope at 200×magnification. Yellow regions indicate merged images, where cells are positive for both TUNEL and PEDV infection.
