The effects of 1-(5-oxovalerate)-indoles containing different alkyl substituents in the 2-position on 5-oxo-ETE-induced calcium mobilization in neutrophils were investigated. Either vehicle or different concentrations of indoles were added to indo-1-loaded neutrophils, followed 2 min later by addition of 5-oxo-ETE (10 nM) as shown in Figure 2. The symbols represent means ± SEM. The IC50 values shown in the table to the right are the means ± SE of IC50 values from the numbers of independent experiments shown in brackets.
