Effect of early life administration of NAC on markers of oxidative stress in HFD-fed mice. NAC was given to females during pregnancy and lactation. HFD was given to offspring from the age of 6 weeks. Mice were killed at age 16 weeks and serum (A) and liver (B) thiobarbituric acid reactive substrate (TBARS) were measured. (C) Protein carbonylation was measured in liver, as describes in Methods.
