The A. nidulans clinical isolates MO80069 and SP-2605-48 do not present increased survival in the presence of macrophages and neutrophils. Macrophages were incubated for 1.5 h with conidia from the respective strains before phagocytized conidia were counted. Macrophages were incubated with the respective conidia for 1.5 h before they were lysed, and contents were plated on complete medium.
