Participants	309 women at </=7 weeks of gestation confirmed by ultrasound; average age 27 years; average gestational age 42 days. Exclusion criteria: haemoglobin<9.5 g/L, seizure disease ,active liver disease, renal insufficiency, allergy/ intolerance to study medication. Interventions	methotrexate 50 mg/m2 followed 72‐ 144 hours later by: group 1: misoprostol 600mcg buccal (insert between their cheeks and leave for 1 h) group2: misoprostol 600mcg vaginal both groups instructed to repeat the dose 24 hours later if no heavy bleeding had occurred

Notes	women with ongoing pregnancy at day 8 follow‐up received 1‐2 more doses of misoprostol
