Growth response of E. coli CFT073 to 1,2-propanediol. 1,2-Propanediol stimulated growth of E. coli CFT073 under anaerobic conditions on minimal medium containing 0.2% yeast extract (A) or 20 mM fumarate (B). Cells were grown anaerobically in sealed serum tubes. Cell growth was measure by monitoring the optical density at 600 nm (OD600) over time.
