IRE1α inhibitors prevent ZIKV-induced ER reorganization. (A+B) Cells were infected with ZIKV for two days. Viral NS4B protein (red in merged image) and the ER marker, protein disulfide isomerase (PDI, green in merged image), were visualized by immunostaining. Nuclei were counterstained with TO-PRO-3 (blue). (B) Cells were treated with small molecule inhibitors or DMSO solvent control prior to infection with ZIKV and PDI staining, and ER reorganization was quantified.
