Cardiac function decreases at 2 h post-ischemia/reperfusion (IR) injury, but does not decline up to 2 months of age. Echocardiography analysis of sham-operated and IR pigs measured prior to surgery (P30 baseline), 2 h following the start of ischemia (or sham equivalent), 1 week, 2 weeks, and 4 weeks following surgery.
