Federal aviation regulations, Part 121: First aid and emergency medical kits

First aid kits
Approved first aid kits required by β121.309 must meet the following specifications and requirements:
1.Each first aid kit must be dust and moisture proof, and contain only materials that either meet Federal Specification GG-K-291a, as revised, or are approved.
2.Required first aid kits must be distributed as evenly as practicable throughout the aircraft and be readily accessible to the cabin flight attendants.
3.The minimum number of first aid kits required is set forth in the following table:

4.Except as provided in paragraph 5, each first aid kit must contain at least the following or other approved contents:

5.Arm and leg splints that do not fit within a first aid kit may be stowed in a readily accessible location that is as near as practicable to the kit.
Emergency medical kits
The approved emergency medical kit required by β121.309 for passenger flights must meet the following specifications and requirements:
1.Approved emergency medical equipment shall be stored securely so as to keep it free from dust, moisture, and damaging temperatures.
2.One approved emergency medical kit shall be provided for each aircraft during each passenger flight and shall be located so as to be readily accessible to crew members.
3.The approved emergency medical kit must contain, as a minimum, the following appropriately maintained contents in the specified quantities.
