Experimental paradigms for the cued condition of the delay discounting task of Experiment 1. Participants were presented with a self-generated episodic cue and asked to imagine a personal future experience occurring at a specific delay (e.g., 3 years). They then were presented with two reward options and indicated their choice between a smaller, immediate reward and a larger reward to be received after the specified delay.
