This figure shows the box plots of the proposed algorithm and LIBRA for the estimated PD values vs the BI‐RADS breast densities. The number of exams in each breast density category (density 1–4) are 15, 22, 28, and 26, respectively. The two extreme values on the box plots indicate the 25th and 75th percentile of the data. The two extreme values of the dash lines refer to the minimum and the maximum of the data that are not considered outliers. The plus (+) marker indicates a possible outlier within the data (which is more than 2.7 standard deviations above or below the mean of a normal distribution). The notches indicate the 95% confidence interval of the median.
