Effect of indomethacin on VSV primary transcription and polysome profiles of VSV‐infected cells.

A. Levels of total and primary VSV N‐mRNA and β‐actin mRNA were determined by Northern blot in cells treated with 400 μM INDO with or without cycloheximide (CHX, 50 μg ml⁻¹) (upper panels). mRNA levels were quantified by MDA, as described in the text; N‐mRNA/β‐actin mRNA ratio for each lane is shown (lower panel).

B. Polysome profiles (5–65% linear sucrose gradient) of mock‐infected (−VSV) or VSV‐infected (+VSV) cells treated with 400 μM INDO (30 min) after virus adsorption. Arrow indicates 80S ribosomes. Data represent results from one experiment representative of two independent experiments with similar results.
