Species richness of group 1 (a, c, e) and group 2 hoverflies (b, d, f) per day of observation (10 sessions × 20 min on 10 m2) according to floral density (a, b), distances to spruce plantations (c, d) and heathland patch area (e, f). Observations were carried out on S. x multinervis (▵), V. vitis‐idaea (⨉), V. myrtillus (+), E. tetralix (○) and C. vulgaris (□). Group 1 mainly consisted of aphidophagous, terrestrial hoverfly larvae species. Group 2 mainly consisted of saprophagous and aquatic hoverfly larvae species (see Fig. 2). Lines are linear regression lines for each target plant species (only shown when the factor was significant).
