Metformin up-regulates AMPK phosphorylation in DPCs in a dose-dependent manner. (A) Whole cell extracts were analyzed by western blotting to determine expression levels of OCTs in DPCs. As shown, only OCT-1 expression was detected in DPCs. (B) DPCs were treated with different concentrations of metformin for 24 hours.
