Histopathological findings. Microscopically, confluent non-caseating granulomas with extensive necrosis are seen in the lung parenchyma. The granulomas are of the sarcoid type, palisaded by Langerhans-type giant cells and mononuclear lymphohistiocytes with central necrosis.
