Protein Synthesis: Transcription and Translation.

Messenger RNA (mRNA), transcribed in the nucleus from one strand of DNA, is transported to the cytoplasm for translation into polypeptides. The amino acid product of the trinucleotide genetic code is attached to the complementary transfer RNA (tRNA).
